Free and Low Cost Facebook Marketing Tools for Your Business
For a retailer, connecting your brick-and-mortar store with your online presence can be tricky. How do you get your in-store customers to engage with your brand online and how do you get your online followers to visit your closest store? Well, we’ve found of Facebook marketing goodies to help you bridge that gap. And the best part? They require little to no cost!
Facebook Window Sticker
An easy way to let your in-store customers know about your presence on Facebook is with a free window sticker you can stick at front door. Businesses can get their free Facebook window sticker by creating an Ad account (which is free to create, but you’ll have to add your credit card information). Once your account has been created, Facebook sends you the sticker to the given mailing address.

New Facebook Like and Share Buttons
To help you spread online content and drive Facebook referral traffic to your website, Facebook introduced a new design for their Like and Share buttons in November. If you’re currently using the old Like button, you should have already been upgraded to the new design. For everyone else, they look like this:
Remember, button placement matters. Big names like the Huffington Post recommend adding social share buttons under headlines of articles or in a persistent place on every page of your site.
BONUS TIP: AddThis.com is the place to find any other social plugin you’d ever want and there are instructions and code to add to your page’s main HTML tag. Go ahead and take a look at all of free options.
Facebook Offers
To get customers you see in your stores active and following you on
Facebook is to surprise them with an in-store offer.
In July 2013, Facebook did away with Online offers, but they’re still offering in-store offers that are absolutely free to create, just like any other status update. However, they aren’t free to promote (Sorry!). Great news is that Facebook only requires you to set a minimum advertising budget of $5 and you can definitely get some bang for your buck.
Facebook Gifts
Finally, earlier this year, Facebook introduced Facebook Gifts, which is a powerful tool to help increase your reach. Facebook gifts allows users to purchase actual, physical gifts (giftcards, products, services) from retailers to have them shipped directly to friends.
When the receiver of the gift gets the notification, an image of the product along with the name of the store it came from appears on his or her time line. This not only exposes branding to the gift giver and the gift receiver, but friends of both those people.
Although Facebook collects a percentage of all gift purchases, this can be a powerful way to gather valuable exposure and bring Facebook users into the store.
Facebook’s made it especially easy this year for businesses to get better reach, spread awareness, and connect a little more with their customers on their social media site. Be sure to take advantage of these little to no cost tools to help you bridge the gap between your in-store and online marketing!
